COMPANY HISTORY Concert Sound Limited was formed in 1977, by a small nucleus of people whose express aim was to provide the very best sound, with the highest level of service. In the beginning, as a smaller sound company, we worked with smaller bands. However, our special relationships with clients have meant that we have grown together. For instance, we have worked with Dire Straits since they first stopped "busking" on the London Underground. When Tina Turner made her come-back, we were chosen for the sound. When Talking Heads first started touring, we toured with them. Even if you've not heard of Concert Sound, you're sure to know of the live performance reputations of our clients. Live means live: you don't get a second chance with any part of a performance - or a second chance with a client. Every moment is unique and valuable. Our attention to detail is recognised worldwide. It means that every spectator, whether at the event (in whatever seat) or via TV and radio, hears perfect sound. Our reputation for meeting challenging deadlines, making unusual venues sound great and solving complex technical problems has led to our clients devising ever more demanding briefs for live performances - secure in the knowledge that we'll make it happen. We have been involved with events where there are many bands performing on a single-stage, demanding the very fastest change-overs; where world media require live feeds for broadcast, some of which have subsequently been awarded BAFTAs and Grammys; and where live audiences of more than 100,000 have paid to see and hear the concert of a life-time. We invest in equipment which we believe to be the best, regardless of cost. We replace equipment only when we consider it to have been improved upon. Nothing is ever bought on the strength of hearsay or hype, every single piece of equipment is evaluated our way. Our equipment list includes mixing consoles by Digico, Midas and Yamaha amplifiers by Lab-Gruppen speakers by JBL and EAW and outboard equipment by Klark Teknik, B.S.S and DBX, amongst others. The artists with whom we have worked are among the world's greatest; the venues in which we have designed and engineered sound systems are some of the toughest acoustically, from Wembley Stadium to the deserts of Mozambique. The scope of performer type illustrates our technical ingenuity and thorough understanding of what makes great sound. We maintain our Engineering staff on a full time basis, and are the only company in the UK to do this on the scale involved. It is our belief that the only thing money can't buy is service, and only experience can give the level of service required and needed today.
